Global Village is Dubai's longest-running and most popular seasonal cultural and entertainment destination, bringing together pavilions from over 90 countries across a massive 1.6 million square meter site. Open from October through April each year, it combines shopping, dining, live entertainment, rides, and cultural experiences that attract millions of visitors every season. Now in its third decade, Global Village continues to evolve while maintaining the multicultural bazaar atmosphere that made it famous. Season Dates and Timings
The current season typically runs from late October through late April. Operating hours are Saturday through Wednesday from 4 PM to midnight, and Thursday through Friday from 4 PM to 1 AM. During public holidays and special events, hours may be extended. The main gate opens at 4 PM, but some attractions and retail pavilions may start slightly later.
The season is divided into distinct phases. The opening weeks in October and November see the launch of major concerts and events. December through January is peak season with holiday celebrations, New Year events, and the highest visitor numbers. February and March offer comfortable weather and a good balance of crowds and availability. The closing weeks in April feature farewell events and clearance sales at many pavilions.
Tickets and Entry
Entry tickets cost AED 25 per person. Children under 3 and people of determination enter free. Season passes are available at AED 150 for unlimited visits, which pays for itself after just six visits. VIP experience packages with fast-track entry and premium seating at shows cost AED 100 to AED 250. Tickets are available at the gate, online through the Global Village website and app, and at select retail outlets around Dubai.
Ride and attraction tickets are purchased separately inside the park using a cashless wristband or card that you load with credit at kiosks throughout the venue. Rides typically cost AED 15 to AED 40 per ride. An unlimited ride wristband is available on select days for AED 100 to AED 150.
Must-Visit Pavilions
India Pavilion: Consistently one of the largest and most vibrant pavilions at Global Village. The India section spans multiple buildings featuring regional crafts, textiles, jewelry, spices, and street food from different Indian states. Live Bollywood dance performances, henna artists, and cultural demonstrations run throughout the evening. Must-buy items include pashmina shawls, brass handicrafts, and aromatic spice blends. Street food highlights include chaat, dosa, and fresh jalebi.
Turkey Pavilion: Known for its ornate ceramics, Turkish lamps, leather goods, and extensive food section. The Turkish ice cream vendor's theatrical serving style is a crowd favorite. Morocco Pavilion: The Moroccan section is an architectural highlight with its detailed zellige tilework, carved wooden fixtures, and atmospheric design. The food court serves tagines, couscous, and mint tea in a setting that genuinely transports you to Marrakech.

Pakistan Pavilion: Features handcrafted furniture, onyx products, Multani pottery, and a food section serving biryani, kebabs, and traditional sweets. The woodwork and brass items are often sourced directly from artisans in Peshawar and Lahore, offering authentic craftsmanship at reasonable prices.
Africa Pavilion: A combined pavilion representing multiple African nations with products including handcrafted jewelry, wooden sculptures, textiles, and natural cosmetic products like shea butter and African black soap. The pavilion offers a diverse food experience with dishes from East and West Africa.
Japan Pavilion: Features Japanese snacks, electronics, anime merchandise, beauty products, and kitchenware. The pavilion is popular with younger visitors for its anime and pop culture merchandise. Japanese street food including takoyaki and matcha desserts draws consistent crowds.
Dining at Global Village
Food is arguably the primary draw of Global Village for many visitors. With hundreds of dining options representing cuisines from around the world, it functions as the largest food festival in the region during its operating season.
Budget-friendly options include food kiosks serving individual dishes for AED 10 to AED 30. Mid-range sit-down options within pavilions cost AED 40 to AED 80 per person. Premium dining experiences and special food festival events are available at higher price points.
Top food experiences include freshly grilled Turkish kebabs and pide, Indian street food stalls serving pani puri, vada pav, and fresh kulfi, Filipino halo-halo and grilled meats, Palestinian and Syrian shawarma and manousheh, Japanese takoyaki and ramen, and Brazilian churros and meat skewers. Many visitors come specifically for the food, spending entire evenings sampling dishes from different pavilions.
Entertainment and Rides
Global Village offers a full entertainment program each season. The main stage hosts international and regional music acts, cultural performances, and special event shows. Stunt shows, acrobatic performances, and fireworks displays are scheduled on weekends and holidays.
The Carnaval area features over 40 rides and attractions ranging from gentle family rides to adrenaline-pumping roller coasters and drop towers. A dedicated children's area offers age-appropriate rides and play zones.
Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, mirror mazes, haunted houses, and other paid attractions are scattered throughout the park, adding variety to the shopping and dining experience.
Practical Tips for Your Visit
Arrive early, preferably when gates open at 4 PM. The park fills up significantly after 7 PM on weekends, making navigation and queuing much more challenging. Weekday evenings offer the best balance of atmosphere and manageable crowds.
Wear comfortable walking shoes. The park is genuinely huge, and a thorough visit covers several kilometers. Bring a light jacket as evening temperatures during December and January can drop to 15 to 18 degrees Celsius.
Set a budget before entering. The combination of affordable entry, attractive goods, and tempting food makes it easy to overspend. Many items are priced attractively but may not be significantly cheaper than regular retail. Compare prices on electronics and gadgets before purchasing.
Bargaining is expected and accepted at most pavilions, particularly for textiles, handicrafts, jewelry, and souvenirs. Starting at 30 to 40 percent below the asking price is a reasonable opening position. Fixed-price items are usually clearly marked.
Parking is free but the car parks are extensive and can be confusing. Note your parking zone number and gate. During peak weekends, parking lots fill up quickly, so arriving early or using ride-hailing services is advisable. A dedicated RTA bus service operates from Ibn Battuta Mall metro station.
